Lucy was born on 7th July 1983 in Liverpool, her mother Sylvia Hargreaves nee Cunningham, formerly from Dymoke Road Croxteth Liverpool 11, her dad Kenny from Gainford Road Liverpool 12. Lucys grandparents from Studland Road Liverpool 9, Ferrey Road Liverpool 10 and the town area of Liverpool. Lucy has many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins from all over Liverpool. 

Lucy was very much a local girl from a local family brought up in Ince Avenue Liverpool 6. Lucy attended All Saints School in Anfield and then went to Notre Dame high school Everton valley. Lucy was a sociable young kid typical of our city. Lucy had many good friends who are still good friends of the family and spend time with Lucys three children. Through her teenage years Lucy presented a few challenges not uncommon of that age group but Lucy had never been in trouble with the police.

It was around this time Lucy met Gary Campbell who would have been about five years older than Lucy. Lucy was unusually secretive about this relationship and did not disclose much to her family. This meeting would eventually cost Lucy her life. Lucy then had three children in quick succession with Gary Campbell. By the time she was twenty she was a mother of three, not an ideal situation for any young girl.

Lucy was a great mother she loved her children and coped well. Lucys mum and dad were there for her on a daily basis. Lucy was beginning to renew an interest in education and training and with the help and support of the NLRCO (North Liverpool Regeneration Company) in particular the manager and staff at Hopscotch Day Nursery. Lucy had put in for her driving test and was very positive about her future.

Lucy was still secretive about Gary Campbell and did not disclose much to her family. We are now aware Gary Campbell was a petty thief and spent time in Walton jail Liverpool. This was shortly before Lucy was murdered. Whilst he was in jail he was recognised and threatened by criminal associates of Tony Downes. Tony Downes would later be arrested and put on trial for Lucys murder.
